I'm weeks behind in my Design Your Life class but I'm determined to get caught up. This is a double page 8.5x11 layout I made for our week 3 lesson on repetition. I am learning so much in this class taught by Cathy Zielske. I highly recommend it if it is offered again. You can read more about all the classes offered at Big Picture Scrapbooking by clicking here.
My repetition for these pages include: repetition of color - I used the green, purple and gold multiple times to give the layout a feeling of unity. I also repeated the use of circular shapes to form a visual triangle. Very fun layout.
My biggest challenge for this layout was the colors in the picture. In retrospect if I were to do another layout with colors like this I might edit the pictures to a Sepia format. I used some pictures from a 2007 family reunion which happened to be on Saint Patrick's Day which explains why we're all wearing funky shades of green!! Oh and not just lots of green but purple too! Purple! I never scrapbook with purple. I finally ended up making my own digital papers and coloring the brushes to match. I think it turned out okay, even with the purple and green. :-)
I'll post more pages as I get caught up.
